Kevin Willard Obituary

Kevin Blake Willard
December 2, 1969 – September 12, 2017

Kevin Blake Willard, loving husband, proud father, adoring son, and brother was 47. He called Laton, California his home. Kevin was born on December 2, 1969. Kevin passed away at Community Regional Medical Center, Fresno, California on September 12, 2017.

Kevin Willard worked for Veterinary Service Inc. (VSI) for 8 years. He was 2013, 2015 and 2017 Durvet Livestock Products Sales Rep of the year. 2011 VSI Highest Overall Sales, 2012 VSI Highest in Livestock Margin Increase and Second Highest in Livestock Sales Increase, 2015 and 2016 VSI 2nd Highest Gross Margin Sales for Livestock Division, 2015 and 2016 Durvet Highest Total Dollar Sales, 2012 Durvet Highest Percent Increase in Livestock sales, 2013 Durvet Top Overall Livestock Sales, 2013 VSI 3rd Highest in Livestock Margin. Given a goal and a challenge Kevin rose to the occasion every time. Kevin loved his community and believed in giving back to it, no matter how big or small. He became a Laton Lions member and was usually in charge of the entertainment. Kevin enjoyed the many long-lasting friendships he made as a Lions member. Last but not at all least, the band. Kevin Blake Willard and the Cadillac Cowboys, have played at just about every bar, rodeo dance, wedding, farmers market, festival, casino, and charity all over the state of California for more than 20 years. The biggest reward from this has been the brotherhood of talented musicians that became family and the tons of fans that became friends. The band was his passion and it was a great ride. Kevin was a busy man, but always made time for his three amazing children Bailey Jo, Brooke and Blake. His children were his pride and joy. Kevin loved to brag about each of them. Kevin's best friend and wife Irene, had a love story like no other. A lesson that some things are just meant to be. This amazing man will always be loved and missed, he was really larger than life!

Kevin is survived by his wife Irene Willard, son Blake Willard, daughter Brooke Willard, daughter Bailey Jo Willard, father Cotton Willard, mother Judy Willard, sister Dee Dee Oliveira and her husband Larry Oliveira, sister Heather Willard, nephew Tyler Turner and his wife Adrianna, niece Tegan Turner, niece Brianna Langley, niece Katelyn Langley, niece Hailey Langley, great-nephews Austin and Wyatt Turner, many aunts and cousins in California and in Oklahoma.

Wish I could find the words, Kevin. You, like so many others, wormed your way into my heart years ago, you were and will remain 'one of my kids.' Life gets in the way, and here we are, 2017 trying to make sense of it all. Thank you, son, for the good times when I'd happen upon you and that guitar. But most importantly, I hope you knew I loved you.

Kevin was a wonderful friend and co-worker. I always looked forward to seeing him at our National Sales Meeting. He made people feel like they had known him for years and that they were important to him. He will be missed by his Durvet family for sure. Prayers for grace and healing for his family.
