It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Kieran (Kiki) J. Gunning (May 30, 1956 - July 19, 2017). Funeral services will take place on Thursday, July 27 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eden Brook Funeral Home (17th Avenue and Lower Springbank Road, Calgary, AB). Kiki was an active and passionate community member of Bowen Island, BC. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the following organizations in the Bowen Island area: Bowen Island Food Bank (604) 813-8550, Meals on Wheels Vancouver (604) 733-6614, Orchard Recovery Center (604)947-0420. Since I heard the sad news about Kieran this afternoon, I am finding it very hard to get my head around his death. When Kieran, Liz, Jennifer and Keith moved from Belleville to Galway, I was Kieran's assistant in Nortel Galway. I am remembering many funny stories this afternoon whilst I worked for Kieran, each day was never a dull one! Kieran was one in a million as a boss and a person. May he rest in peace. My deepest sympathy to the whole family. Kieran and I crossed path at Nortel. He was running Wireless Operations in Calgary while I was running Optical Operations in Montreal. We always had a lot of respect for eachother and, more importantly, Kieran had this contagious sense of humor that made him a great man to deal with.
