Kwai Hee Ching Mar. 17, 1935 - Sept. 19, 2009 Resident of Union City, CA Kwai Hee Ching, 74, passed away on September 19 due to illness. Born in China, he immigrated to the United States with his wife and first child in 1963; settling in Honolulu for approximately 15 years before moving to the Bay Area. He was a successful, self employed business owner in the Honolulu and Oakland Chinatown communities. A beloved son, brother, spouse, father and grandfather, he leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion and sacrifice. He was a selfless man who worked extremely hard - dedicating his entire life to his family and his friends. He never hesitated to help a family member or friend in need. Retired for the last ten years, Kwai enjoyed his newfound free time with his lifelong companion and spouse, Carol. He especially cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. Though now passed, his memory will live on through his survivors: his mother, Mrs. Hong Young Ching of Honolulu, his brother, Nelson Ching of Honolulu, his sister, Millie Yim of Honolulu, his wife Carol, his children - Kevin Ching, Kennedy Ching, Lester Ching and Shirlene Harrison, as well as his grandchildren: Lester Tomas and Camille Marissa Ching, Matthew and Sarah Ching, Aden and Damien Harrison. A private family memorial service was held in his honor.
