To the Lalonde family,
Lally was honest, fair, had a great sense of humour, could tell a story, was passionate, sensitive, giving, soft, tough, straightforward, proud, and occasionally repentant when he saw he might have been wrong, and he had a strong sense of loyalty (family).
Most people might have two or three of these traits. Lally possessed them all. Everyone who knew him realizes this man was special.

Mrs.Lalonde and family,
Echoing what Dave Hunt has said, Lally always made the game of hockey exciting.
I used to keep my mask on between periods for fear Lally didn't like my play in that game! He had a very effective way of making you play a little harder next period.
He was great man who taught me a lot about the game on and off the ice.
He will be missed but never forgotten.
~RIP Lally~

Lally was one of a kind. You never new what to expect next, he was always exciting and fun. Trips to Lake Placid and going down the Bob-Sled run with him, winning the Citizen Shield (Hockey) in Cornwall, ON are things I will never forget. R.I.P. Lally

Dear Tina,
My condolences to you, your mother and sister on the passing of Lally. He was a terrific guy and a great coach. Played for Lally in Hul 68-69 when the famous pull-a-goalie play took place. As a player it was exciting because we had no idea what was coming. We did it numerous times that Spring and it worked every time. Years later, I would run in to him occasionally and we always talked about that year and he wanted an update on what was happening and if I had been in contact with any other players on that team. He will be missed!!
Sincerely,
Dave Hunt Oakville, ON

My deepest condolences to the family on the passing of a great man. My father (Aurele Potvin) played many sports with Lally back in Lowertown and often regaled us with many wonderful stories, particularly of his fierce loyalty to his team-mates. Dad told us Lally would always rush to the defence of anyone who was being bullied or picked on. Dad passed away from Alzheimer's a few years ago but would still share many “Lally” stories in his final years.
He always had a very special place in our family's heart. May you find courage and peace knowing how much he was admired.

I'm very sorry to hear about Lally's passing as he was such a good man.My heart goes out to the family. I remember doing one of my first quaterback clubs with Lally in 1979 over in Hull and wow what an introduction. He was hilarious, respectful, honest, enjoyed what he was doing and very knowledgeable about sports having excelled in so many himself. What I do remember most as that as a member of the media he always had the players back which I always admired. May he rest in peace and thank you for serving in our military.

Dear Tina,
My sincere condolences to you and all your family. We had so much fun playing ball together as kids, and I know your dad was a big reason why you were such a great player - best catcher ever. It was nice seeing you a few years ago at your daughter's basketball game. She's quite the athlete as well. I'm sure her grandpa was very proud. Maribeth

What great memories I have of Lally, Marge and my Mom and Dad on St. Ann St. and then again when Dave and I lived next door on Beaverpond. Lally was always bigger than life itself. My heart goes out to Marge and the family. I think of you all, often.
