Lana Haugen Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 3, 2007.
Lana Jean Haugen, 21, of South Range, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Dec. 24, 2006. She was born July 25, 1985 in Duluth, daughter of Nancy A. (Keuten) and Thomas J. Haugen. Lana attended Superior Senior High School for two years and graduated from Continental Academy in Florida. She also went to WITC for cosmetology and corrections classes. She planned on furthering her education. Lana had an enthusiastic appreciation for life; she especially enjoyed taking professional photos of Lake Superior, painting, dancing, reading psychology and science books, writing poems, making music, watching movies with her family, talking with her mom, working out with her dad, singing with her sister, meeting her friends for coffee, and making people laugh. Lana was an intelligent, generous, kind, considerate, vivacious, imaginative and beautiful young lady. Preceding her in death were her great-grandparents, Florence and Emmons Erickson and Florence and Charles Keuten, Sr.; grandfather, John Haugen; grandmothers, Jean Haugen and Alice M. Keuten; aunt, Joan Nelson; uncle, Carrie Chruscielski; cousins, Ronald Nelson, Michelle Samuelson, Skyler Smith; nephews, Dillon Chruscielski and Joseph Kehoe; and niece, Eylee Miller. Survivors include her parents; sisters, Jill (Arnaud) Devriendt, Longpont, France, LuAnne (Duane) Turnage, Havre, Montana, and Joanie Christenson, Superior; grandfather, Joseph (Beverly) Keuten, Duluth; favorite uncle, Don Haugen, South Range; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and dear friends. Lana's parents would like to thank all those who lovingly cared for our precious daughter. We all love you, Lana, so very much, and we will always miss you. VISITATION:5 to 7 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2007 with services at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2007 in Downs Funeral Home, corner of Ogden Avenue and N. 19th Street, Superior, with Gary Banker officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Superior, at a later date.

My thoughts are with you during this time of loss and sadness. I met Lana while working at Teleresources and we became friends. She always lifted my spirits and made me laugh. She will be remembered as a dedicated friend who had the biggest heart. I'll miss you Lana, I hope you are looking down at all of us, happy, and in peace.
