Larry Dale Maggard

Larry Maggard Sr., 59, went to be with our Lord peacefully on January 8, 2018, at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Carrollton, Texas, surrounded by his family.

Our beloved Larry was born April 18, 1958, in Denison, Texas, to Melton and Charlotte Maggard. Larry was a longtime member of River Pointe Church of Denison (formally First Assembly of God of Denison).

Before enduring a five year battle to regain his health, Larry enjoyed spending time with his son, fishing, attending church, fishing, witnessing his faith in Jesus, fishing, Dallas Cowboy football, and more fishing.

Larry leaves cherished memories with his son, Larry Maggard Jr. of Whitewright; mother, Charlotte Ann Maggard of Denison; two sisters, Terri Menking of Highland Village and her two children, Zachary and Maggie (Charlotte), and Paula Littrell and her husband James of Bonham, and their children, Chris Littrell and his wife Mary Elizabeth of Savoy, and Tamra Tucker and her husband Terry of Andrews, TX; nephews Ben Denman and his wife Ami of Luther, OK, and Steven Denman and his wife Audra of Jones, OK; uncles and aunts, Benny and Faye Busby of Bagwell, Texas, John and Diana Bruno of Denison; cousins Charlene Busby, Tony Fryar, Timothy Fryar, and Michael Fryar; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved father, Melton E. Maggard; his beloved sister, Kathy K. Maggard-Denman; his beloved nephew, George David Menking; his beloved niece, Kristin Henderson; his beloved Uncle James "Buzz" Busby; and beloved grandparents, Benjamin and Charlotte Busby, and Bill and Laverne Isbell.

Visitation will be held for family and friends on Friday, January 12, 6-7pm, at Bratcher Funeral Home in Denison, Texas. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13, at 11:00am at River Pointe Church, 1710 S. Woodlawn Blvd., Denison. Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Denison. Rev. Herlin Summers will officiate.

Terri Menking and Larry Maggard Jr. will eulogize. Scripture and prayer will be led by Zachary Menking. Music will include an original tribute song, written and performed by Maggie Menking. Additional music by Keith Menking, Steven Denman and Danny Denman. Pallbearers are Larry Maggard Jr., Ben Denman, Steven Denman, Zachary Menking, Timothy Fryar, and Michael Fryar.
