Hi Randy! Hi Gloria! and Hi! to Veronica! and the WOWK family!!! Not too long ago, Veronica you lost your Big Brother! He was a very special Man! Our deapest symphathy and sincere wishes to the WOWK family, that you can find the way in spirit and mind to heal from the loss of a great son and brother from the Preston girls, Geraldine and LaVerne.
Larry had talent byond his years, soo much fun, a very kind, caring and giving person. What a wonderful person to have for a son! There is no expression that can be stated for the loss of a child before a parent, please find peace Pearl and know that Larry is up there in Heaven fininshing his murels!!
I remember very well being in the Yellowknife Inn after I joined the Airforce, and who do you think I ran into, WELLL....it was Larry Wowk just fininshing up the murel....What a beautiful work of Art!!! He said, are you Geraldine Preston, I said NO, Geri Preston and we just laughed and laughed about my first name...then Larry said yeah, you were always called Geri throughout Junior and High School.....
Soooo, Larry asked what I was doing here and I told him that I joined the AirForce in 1970 and I was teaching Reserves how to do Accounting. Larry and I had alot of talking to do, I introduced him to the Pilots that were flying the Buffalo Aircraft we came up to Yellowknife in ,and they took Larry on a aerial tour the next day so he could take shots! My gosh, Larry's artistic mind just took off from there. I believe he has paintings of that trip, because he told me that he had alot to do to save the memories of that experience. He was snapping pictures the whole time, got back on ground and Larry thanked and thanked the pilots for the tour.
I didn't see Larry for many years after until my Grandma died. That's when he told me that he did a painting from the aerial of the Northern Lights and the Wolves.... What a beautiful painting....Larry gave me a copy. It is framed and has always been displayed in my House since the 70"s.
Larry, Thank You for your friendship, The Wonderful Person your are, and You will always be Special in My Heart!
Thank You for the Memories Larry, and Very Many Thanks to the WOWK Family for having such a special Son and Brother!
With Love and Regards,
Geri Dutchin

No matter how long we are granted to know and share the company of someone who is family or friend, it never really is long enough. With Larry's' sudden passing, we share in the sadness and grief felt by this loss. However, we remember well his amazing artistic talent, outgoing talkative nature, laughs we shared and his many visits with us. It's hard to believe he is gone, but it will be easy to remember him.

Larry's artistic talents have personally touched many of us in Vilna, and remain as an everlasting memorial to his life well-lived, as well as his generous contributions to our community. I extend my sincerest sympathies to Larry's mother and family members. I hope that the grief of his sudden passing will soon be surpassed by the joy we all feel in knowing him and appreciating his creative accomplishments.
