Laura A. Caban, 63, passed away peacefully in her daughter's home under the care of her family and ProMedica (Heartland) Hospice on Monday, October 31, 2022. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Born in Chicago, Illinois on September 8, 1959, Laura was the daughter of Myra (Langnes) and Manuel Caban Sr. She graduated from Plymouth High School with the class of 1978.

She worked for Sprint as a business system analyzer until 2000.

Laura was proud of her Puerto Rican heritage and loved hosting and cooking for family gatherings. She taught her siblings how to make some of their favorite dishes. Family meant everything to Laura and she loved family gatherings.

She was outgoing, caring, funny. Laura was a great cook and loved baking and decorating cookies. She thoroughly enjoyed quilting, a hobby her grandson would like to continue.

Laura is deeply missed by her daughter, Jennifer Armendariz & Jason Borlick of Granger; her grandson Kaden; her siblings: Kimberly Weekley of CA, Diana Caban of Plymouth, Manuel (Jill) Caban, Jr. of Carmel, Emilio Caban of Granger, Luis Caban of South Bend and Roberto (Jennifer) Caban of Plymouth as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandchildren, Emma and Robert Rhoads.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2022, from 11-1 p.m. EDT at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. EDT with her brother, Roberto Caban officiating.

Memorial contributions can be made to ProMedica Hospice 230 West Catalpa Dr, D, Mishawaka, IN 46545.
