Lauren Whalen Obituary
Lauren M. Whalen, 26, passed away at New York – Presbyterian Hospital in Queens, NY on April 18, 2018. The daughter of Anissa McKechnie (Picarella) and the late Kevin Alexander McKechnie, she was born on June 15, 1991 at New York -Presbyterian Hospital in Queens, NY. Lauren attended Sachem High School East in Farmingville, NY and The Fashion Institute of Technology in Manhattan. She worked as an executive assistant at Jafra Capital Management in Manhattan, NY.
On July 1, 2017, she married George T. Whalen IV of Millbrook, NY at St. Joseph's Church in Millbrook. They truly enjoyed each other and life together every day. On February 16, 2018, Lauren gave birth to a son, George T. Whalen V.
Lauren is survived by her loving husband, George and her son George, her mother Anissa McKechnie (Picarella), her brother Nicholas Alexander McKechnie, her grandmother, Mary Ann Picarella, her Aunt Janine Milone (Joseph Milone) and her cousins, Caitlin and Melissa Milone. She is also survived by her mother and father-in- law, Susan and George Whalen, sisters- in- law, Sarah Morin (David Morin), Kathryn Whalen and Caroline Whalen and niece and nephew, Isabella Morin and Fisher Morin.
Visitation hours will be held at the Frederick Funeral Home, 192-15 Northern Boulevard, Flushing, NY on Sunday, April 22nd from 2:00 to 9:00 pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Michael's Church, 138-65 Barclay Avenue, Flushing, NY on Monday, April 23rd at 10:30 am. Burial will follow in St. Raymond's Cemetery, Holy Cross Section, 2600 Lafayette Avenue, Bronx, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lauren's memory to St. Joseph's Church, P.O. Box 439, Millbrook, NY 12545.

To Lauren's entire family, I wanted to express my deepest sympathy. She was such a lovely young woman who had a bright, happy spirit. May that light continue to shine through the little boy she left as her gift to George and the world. RIP.

I'm at a loss for words. I remember Lauren fondly when she was a young girl and so full of life. A Beautiful girl who blossomed into a gorgeous woman and mother. My heart is torn for her family. Rest in peace sweetheart. <3
