PEKIN - LaVerne B. Werner, 92, of Batavia, formerly of Pekin, Ill., passed away Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Provena Pine View Care Center in St. Charles, Ill.
She was born in Pekin, the daughter of Vernon and Norma (nee. Reeder) Bastian. She was united in marriage to William B. Werner on Oct. 3, 1937, in Pekin, Ill.
She is survived by her four children, Warren B. Werner of Aurora, Colo., Gale W. (Joseph) Yagel of Batavia, Mark N. (Amy) Werner of Pekin and Christina Werner of Vail, Colo.; four grandchildren, Marianne Y. (Peter) Bernardoni of Batavia, Suzanne Y. (Cristian) Alpizar of San Diego, Calif., Jens M. Werner of Vail, Colo., and Kealy Werner of Jackson, Wyo.; four great-grandchildren Brittney, Brooke and Bennett Bernardoni, and Cristina Alpizar; and a sister, Leona B. Brecher of Pekin, Ill.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Bennett Werner, M.D.
All funeral arrangements will be private.
The family will receive friends and loved ones at the Pekin Country Club on Monday, July 3, 2006, from 1:30 until 3:30 p.m.
