I met Larry thru his cousin, Michele Dorsey, at a difficult time. He was a good guy. I'm glad he was there. Michele thought the world of him. My best to his Mom, Mrs. Graves, and family.

I first met Larry when he was 15 and I was 16 in Avalon NJ one summer when I heard him playing acoustic guitar at 21st street on the boardwalk. I as blown away by his talent as I was early in my guitar playing and he said bring your guitar and play with me. I was shocked he extended that invitation knowing I was nowhere close to his level at that time. I ended up doing that all summer every night and the next summer and learned so much from him as he was so gracious. We cracked each other up with the same crazy sense of humor. Fifty years go by without me ever seeing or hearing from him until I reconnect seeing him on Face Book last year. We ended up jamming again when he moved to Ocean City NJ for the winter, near me in Avalon and played open mic nights at Caroline´s in Somers Point. We also had many a night playing together at his place. The first night seeing him and playing it was like we never stopped it just all clicked and he was so happy to be playing again and the reconnection. He surprised me treating me to The Rolling Stones concert in Phila this past summer insisting on it scraping together what he could. He was a beautiful soul and my last picture of him and I at the concert will always be special to me. It meant so much to him that we got to spend time together after all the years passed and he would always say he cherished reconnecting. I´ll miss you my friend, keep busting on me from above and rock on for your new audience.

Dear Graves Family~ We had the pleasure of seeing Larry this past summer at a mutual friend´s party in North Cape May. We hadn´t seen him since high school - and it was really nice to talk to him and catch up a little after all these years. When he played and sang some Neil Young and a few other songs it brought back great memories!!! Larry was as sweet as ever. Our deepest sympathy on your tremendous loss. Rest in peace Larry.
Love and prayers, Bernadette & David Stitt

I had the opportunity to meet Larry last year in Ocean City, NJ. He had such wit and high intelligence! He was a Civil War expert and sang and played his own composition about an Irish man's life. Larry was truly a force of nature. An unforgettable man with a good heart.
My deepest condolences to Joan, Bill and all the children and family.
