I was so sad to hear of Larry's passing. My favorite memory of him was when Kathy and I first met him and Linda at the first rodeo that we attended in Stonyford in 2008. They both treated us as family and were so generous then and always. We were so grateful for that. I continue to pray for his repose and for Linda, Kip, Laurie, and family. May he rest in peace.

Grief can be so hard, but our special memories help us cope. He was a beautiful man with a beautiful heart. This world is a better place for having had him in it.

I am so glad I got the honor of getting to know Uncle Larry at Thanksgiving. I asked him lots of questions and heard many stories. I´m so sorry for his passing and pray for the LORD´S comfort and healing for his family during this difficult time.

Uncle Larry definitely added some gusto to life!
One of my favorite memories was taking one of his cars out for a spin with a few cousins. After hearing my mom and dad tell him to drive careful with their daughter, he just laughed and said he will.
Down the road about a mile, knowing my love of cars too, he pulled to a complete stop, looked over the seat and said hang on, lol.
He put the pedal to the metal and we took off, squealing, smoking and 100mph down the road. I was just a kid but he got as much fun out of it as us kids did. We were all screaming and cheering. He looked back at me and winked and laughed like only he could and I knew it was our secret!
I have never forgotten that short moment, nor will I ever.
Love and miss you my mischievous, sweet Uncle Larry.

Larry was very special to Grant and I. We had so much fun playing in Quartzsite. I got my turtle in Mexico with him and Linda. I named him Lawrence Turtle after Larry. I have special memories when I see my turtle. . We will miss his special heart. We will see you again friend

When I was about 10 or 11, Grandma and Grandpa had a new concrete pad poured in front of their garage. They told me that during my weeklong summer visit, I should spray it with the hose whenever I passed by to help prevent cracks.
One afternoon, I did just that-but as I sprayed, I noticed movement near the corner of the garage. Curious, I aimed the water in that direction, and that´s when I heard it-the unmistakable rattle. My heart nearly jumped out of my chest as I bolted inside to tell Grandpa I´d found a rattlesnake.
At first, he didn´t believe me, but I wouldn´t let it go. Eventually, he sighed, got up, and followed me outside. Sure enough, there it was-a rattlesnake, coiled and ready. That´s when Ted Mason, our nearly 98-year-old neighbor with only one eye, shuffled out of his house, shotgun in hand.
Grandpa hollered at him, "Don´t hit the new water line!"
Ted just grumbled, took aim, and-with one clean shot-blew the snake´s head clean off without so much as scratching the pipe.
Grandpa and I just stood there, staring. I don´t know if I was more impressed by the shot or the fact that Ted acted like it was just another Tuesday.
