She was born June 22, 1949, in Indiana, a daughter of Richard and Arla Houck Kirkland. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she was active as a greeter and on the food bank. She had been a volunteer for the American Cancer Society. For 30 years, until her death, she was a medical receptionist for Dr. Robert Green and Dr. Andrew Billon. She loved to work in her flower garden and be a homemaker. Surviving are her father, of Indiana; her husband, Harold E., whom she married July 31, 1976; Also a stepdaughter, Danielle Bash and her husband, Richard, Blairsville; step-granddaughters, Jennifer and Nicole Bash; brother Timothy and wife Carol, Grayson, Ky.; Also surviving are her sister-in-law, Debra Shields Kirkland of Mauldin, S.C.; her mother-in-law, Dorothy Hilty Moody, Indiana, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Arla Kirkland, in 1999; her brother, Philip, in 1993; and her father-in-law, Thomas W. Moody in 1978. Funeral services were held Wednesday in Indiana, Rev. Linda B. Chambers officiating. Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery, Indiana. Memorial contributions were suggested to Grace United Methodist Church, Seventh and Church streets, Indiana, Pa. 15701.
