LELA HILL
On Saturday, January 5, 2002, age 73, of Shadyside. Wife of the late George C. Burgwin, III; mother of Rebecca White Burgwin of Squirrel Hill, G. Collinson Burgwin of Berwyn, PA, Kathryn Cochran Burgwin of Highland Park, Maury Hill Burgwin of Highland Park and Lela Burgwin Arnold of Baltimore, MD; grandmother of Erin A. Kennedy, Alisha B. Ryan, Douglas C. Burgwin, Chelsea M. Burgwin, Jonathan J. Burgwin, Eliza Arnold and Emily Arnold; sister of Virginia Hill Robinson of Ontario Canada, Jane Hill Clarkson of Winston-Salem, NC and Maury Hill, Jr. of Norwalk, CT. Friends may call Wednesday 7-9 pm and Thursday 10 am until time of service in the Great Hall of Calvary Episcopal Church, 315 Shady Avenue, Shadyside, where a Memorial Service will be held on Thursday at 12 Noon in the sanctuary. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Forbes Hospice, 6655 Frankstown Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Lela Burgwin died the same way she lived her life, peacefully and surrounded by her family and friends. Arrangements by H. SAMSON, INC.

Always treasure every moment you spent with your mother. your peace will be in knowing that she is at rest in the Lord. She has a promise that she will see all of you again one day. Lela was a client and friend for almost 20 years. I was lucky enough to get a hug and kiss from her at each and every visit before we talked any business. I will remember her as a sweet and loving person. I'm glad my children (ages 8 and 11) had the chance to meet her by chance last year downtown. She will be missed.

How sorry I am to hear of your mothers death. She was a wonderful woman, full of joy and happiness, always up and ready for whatever was going on. I miss her wonderful Christmas letter and as her idol Frank Sinatra sings "I did it my way" she did it her way.
