Leon Brian Batezel

Leon Brian Batezel of Horsham passed away on February 23, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Brian is survived by his beloved wife Elaine (nee Fehrle), his loving children Brian (Nancy), Cheryl Mauro and Keith (Sherry), Pop Pop of five grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother Barry. Leon Brian Batezel was born to the late Winifred and William Batezel, and as twin to Bruce Batezel, on June 9th, 1943 in Baltimore, Maryland. Seventeen years later, Brian graduated from Lincoln Highschool in 1961. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the Air Force reserves and served for 8 years. During this time, high school sweethearts, Brian, and Elaine, tied the knot on March 17th, 1964. Their love continued to flourish for 58 years. Brian went on to become an electrician for the next 43 years and retired at age 74. He was also heavily involved in the Joseph H. Brown Masonic Lodge #751. Following his father's footsteps, he was instated as the master of the lodge in December of 1971. His dedication to the lodge will never be forgotten. Brian can be remembered for his passion and love for playing golf, traveling, Nascar races, gardening, and smoking cigars on his back patio (especially with longtime friend, Charlie). Brian truly lived life to the fullest. His humor, huge heart, and caring nature will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. Relatives and friends are invited to share in Brian's Life Celebration Tuesday, March 1, 2022 starting 11:00 and to participate in his service at 1:00 PM at Craft/Givnish of Abington 1801 Old York Rd.
