LESHER (Johnson), Leona Leona Lesher (Johnson) passed away suddenly on March 1st, 2008. She was born on August 12, 1937 in Barrhead, Alberta and spent her life as a loving and devoted mom, daughter and sister. She is survived by her children, Dean, Coralie and Angela, and was Nana to her grandchildren, Farran, Brett, Danny, Niklas, Magnus and Ashley. Leona is also survived by her sisters Isabelle and Lois and was predeceased by her twin brother, Leny, her older brother, Florian, and her parents, Valma and Gus Johnson. She was kind, tender-hearted and sentimental, generous and affectionate. She loved family occasions, music and the choir, collecting antiques, reading and decorating her home. Her loss will be felt immensely by her family, many close friends, and Dovercourt Baptist Church. God has taken her home to rest. We love you Mom. A private service will be held as requested. We will miss Leona at Dovercourt. She was an integral part of the "worship team" when we used to sing Sunday mornings. Her alto voice was very distinctive. Even though I only knew her for the last 6 years, I considered her a good friend. She was always upbeat & always complimented my granddaughter, Ashley, both on her clothing and her good behaviour. I know that Ashley will miss her as well.
