DENEUMOUSTIER, Leonce Charles
March 15, 1930 – March 23, 2013
It is with heavy hearts that we announce that Leonce Deneumoustier, loving brother, husband, father, and grandfather has passed away at age 83 after a brief illness.
Predeceased by his parents, Leonce Armand Deneumoustier and Elizabeth Agnes Deneumoustier (nee Fagan), his brother Armand "Bishop" and his wife Evelyn MacLeod, his sister Elizabeth "Bessie" and her husband Austin Underwood, his nephew Stephen and his nieces Tara Leigh and Sandra as well as his wife's parents Dimitri Melnichenko and Paraskeva Darchuk.
Leonce is survived by his much loved wife of 60 years, Julia Deneumoustier (nee Melnichenko) whom he married on February 14th in 1953, by his sister Madelaine (late Stanley Keith MacLeod), his brothers Eugene (Carol), Modeste Joseph, and Edward (Valorie), his daughters Lorraine and Elaine, his son Robert (Lynda), his grandchildren Matthew, Kaitlyn, Jeffery, Chloe and Jill, and many nephews, nieces and cousins in Canada and the United States.
As a young man, Leonce served as a Lieutenant in the Korean War in the RCA 81st , also known as the 4th regiment. Later, as a devoted family man, his happiest moments were spent in the company of his loving children and his many internet friends. His generosity and sense of humour, along with his ability to inspire us with his wisdom made him a beacon for all to look up to and admire. He will forever be remembered in the many hearts, minds and souls that he has so deeply touched.
Visitation will be at the J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home, 560 Lakeshore Drive, Dorval, Quebec, www.jjcardinal.ca on Friday, March 29th from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. and Saturday, March 30th from 9-11 a.m.
A Funeral Service will be held in the on-site chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. followed by interment, where he will be laid to rest alongside fellow comrades in arms, at the Field of Honour located at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens, 701 Donegani, Pointe- Claire, Quebec.
Following the interment, a reception will be held at the J.J. Cardinal Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or another charity of your choosing, in his memory, would be appreciated.
