LEWIS KASTER Obituary
April 14, 1932 - November 12, 2015, of Forest Hills, New York. Our devoted father, loving grandfather, and friend "Lew," passed away on November 12, 2015. His distinguished career as a leading real estate and tax attorney commenced following his 1954 graduation from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar and later served as a member of the Adjunct Faculty. Career highlights included service in the U.S. Army's Judge Advocate General's Corps and serving as a partner in several law firms before retiring as of Counsel at Bryan Cave LLP. Pre- deceased by his wife, Carol (nee Goodz), he is survived by daughters Stephanie Blair Kaster and Rachel Kaster Fraser, her husband Ezra Fraser, and grandchildren Sophie and Bennett Orenstein. A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, November 16 at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 West 76 Street, New York, New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chai Lifeline: www.chailifeline.org

"Big" Lew was a dear friend to many in the legal community, both within those firms with which he was affiliated and in the American Bar Association. In 2010 he received the Martin I. Lubaroff Award in recognition to those contributions. Words fail as I attempt to convey all he meant to so many of us a mentor.
