Lindy was my Wife's second cousin via Nelda Glynn Molloy Thompson. He visited us after Nelda's funeral and shared his scrapbook with us. He was a kind man and really loved the Lord. It breaks our heart to hear of his passing, especially during this time.

As being the youngest of the family and ofcourse the only girl, I am so thankful that Lindy set an example and the course to travel on in this world. He seemed to have the steadiness of our father and the graciousness of our mother. The one word I know describes Lindy to me is honesty, he was never afraid to tell you if he disagreed with you. Never did he compromise the truth he believed and I am very thankful for that. He was a good brother to me and I am looking forward to seeing him again in glory!

Lindy meant a lot to our family as we benefitted from his support over the years. My word for Lindy would be strong. Not only physical strength for most of his life, but He was strong in the faith. His habits of reading, studying and writing benefited the church at Lavon. His application of that study as he counseled others showed his heart. We look forward to seeing Lindy again.

Inspiring service. One of the things on my bucket list was to meet and spend an afternoon with Lindy and hearing baseball stories including baptizing Felipe Alou, taking Mickey Mantle to church among other MLB players, unfortunately I never met him. It's a rarity for a member of the Lord's Church to play professional sports and especially keep his faith. I first read a copy of Lindy's publication in Yater Tant's Vanguard Magazine in the late 70's. I was a fan of his since the 70's, mailed several cards to him to sign about 10 years ago and cherish them all. Lindy didn't know me, but had a tremendous influence on my faith. I am an elder in the Lord's church today because of good examples like Lindy. With all of his success, he still put Christ #1. Can't wait to meet him in heaven.

Dear Kathi, praying the Holy Spirit's grace be upon you and your family. What a wonderful life your father has led as a professional athlete and a servant of Christ. Fantastic testament. I'm not surprised, because he has passed those same qualities on to you my friend. Though we mourn for those no longer with us in this earthly realm, we know your dad is now living eternally in his forever home singing praises to our God.
Lifting you up in continued prayer,
Kelly and Mark Dawson

From the 1st time I ever heard of Lindy McDaniel he was one of my heroes. While attending David Lipscomb Elementary in the mid to late 50's, someone told me he was a Christian. From then on I was a follower of his career. I had the honor of 1st meeting Lindy in the 1990s, and after that meeting, we corresponded occasionally. I treasure and kept his letters to me and the encouragement he always provided with regard to life, following Christ, and being the best at whatever one does. Live with God Lindy. Tom

Lindy was a great example of a successful athlete who never lost sight of his allegiance first to Jesus Christ our Lord. He is an alumnus of Florida College from the year 1956 and because of his illustrious career we named our baseball field in his honor.
He will be remembered for his outstanding talent as a baseball player, but more importantly as a humble servant of our Lord. I am thankful to have had him as a dear friend and brother in Christ.
Marilyn and I send our love and condolences to Nancy and the whole family.

Thank you, Lindy for being a brother & friend. My live, our lives (Patty & me) have been so blessed to know you and Alice and you and Nancy. We enjoyed the '42' games and countless hours of discussions on Christ & HIS church. It was a pleasure to serve as an elder with you. Your notebooks on Bible Reading will be part of my library until I come to meet you after awhile. We love Nancy and will see to her welfare until she comes home to the Lord & you.

Our condolences to Lindy's family and friends. He was a wonderful, kind, and caring man. We knew Lindy from our time living in Lavon. When we first moved to Texas from Iowa back in 2004, we knew very few people. We purchased a home next door to Lindy and his wife, Nancy. From day one, Lindy and Nancy were there to help us move into our home, extend warm invites to their home for meals, and always extended an invitation to join their family for holiday dinners. Since all of our family was out of state, it meant so much to us! We enjoyed playing a friendly game of 42 with LIndy and Nancy on many occasions, and will always remember Lindy's love for the game. We have so much respect for Lindy and who he was. He loved Jesus, and made sure others knew that, and knew about Jesus as well. He was an inspiration to us, and I'm sure to countless others. We will be praying for Nancy and the rest of the family - for God to provide comfort in times of great sorrow. Lindy will be missed and never forgotten.
With love,
Paul, Alexa, and James Lemon

That was beautiful.
Glad that so many could come celebrate his life.
Loved the stories and memories shared.
I am thinking Von and Alice met him at the gate with Newell and Ada Mae.
Lindy will update them with all the news from here.
God is soooo GOOD to give us these gospel spreading farmers to plant seeds for the Holy Spirit to grow.
Praying for your comfort.

Sending our condolences! If I had to describe Lindy in one word it would be patient. I remember vividly he came to an event at Westside and when it was over because the preacher in the lecture pointed out he was in the audience he literally couldn't make it out the door. As a young man and huge baseball fan I literally held myself back because I felt for Lindy. I also think of the line in the movie Field of Dreams: if you build it they will come! Boy! Did he build it! Not only on the baseball field but I'm God's kingdom.

What a loss for all of us left behind, but what a gain for Lindy!
He meant so much to me, my extended family, my Christian family, and so so many others.
Hard to pick just one word to describe Lindy, but it would have to be Faithful.
Prayers for Nancy and the family. He will absolutely be missed here on this earth.
Look forward to seeing him again one day...

My days are much brighter when I think of my friend. We had many discussions about the Bible and his work on PITCHING FOR THE MASTER. We also talked about BASEBALL. Lindy and Nancy were married in our home and they spent many nights with Sandy and me. He was a very benevolent man. He was my hero and when we talked baseball he was bigger than life to me. He was my friend and I loved him!!
