In Loving Memory of Lisa Marie Maskevich

June 14, 1961 - July 19, 2025

Lisa Marie Maskevich, of Keyport, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, at the age of 64. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, and friend whose generous heart and unwavering love touched the lives of all who knew her.

Born on June 14, 1961, Lisa was known for her strength, her compassion, and her fierce loyalty to the people and causes she cared about. At the center of her life was her family - they were her greatest pride, her deepest joy, and the reason behind so many of her sacrifices and her strength. Her love was unconditional, her support steadfast, and her presence a steady light in the lives of those close to her.

Lisa is survived by her beloved mother, Rita Julio of Hazlet, NJ; her daughter and greatest treasure, Lynzee Thacker, and her son-in-law Josh, of Corydon, Indiana; her sister and lifelong friend, Erin Kozak of Laurence Harbor, NJ; her dear companion Jason "Whitey" Wingler of Keyport, NJ; and many cherished family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Maskevich of Laurence Harbor; her stepfather, Victor Julio of Hazlet; and her sister, April Gareis of Keyport - all of whom she loved dearly and who no doubt welcomed her with open arms.

Lisa's kindness extended far beyond her family. She had a deep, lifelong love for animals and was always quick to open her heart - and her home - to any creature in need. Whether it was rescuing a stray or comforting someone through a hard time, Lisa made the world softer and more bearable simply by being in it.

She will be remembered for her fierce love, her sharp wit, her honesty, and her incredible capacity for care. Her legacy lives on in every life she touched - in every rescued animal, every cherished memory, and in the strength and compassion she passed on to those who knew her best.

A private memorial will be held by the family. In honor of Lisa's lifelong love for animals, donations may be made in her name to a local animal shelter or rescue organization.

Though she is no longer with us, Lisa's spirit will continue to live on in our hearts - always.

A memory.. me Lisa and our families went out on a boat in the Raritan river when we were when we were younger, just kids.. we ran out of gas and we were stuck out there till like 2am , I remember richy tryna syphen gas out of boats sitting on a marina lol anyway me and Lisa were sitting on the front of the boat singing songs about water when we finally saw another boat me and Lisa started to jump up and down waving our arms, it was the harbor patrol, we were safe and brought home.. till the day she passed we would laugh about it and always say to each other " me and Lou flagged em down" and she would say " me and cude flagged em down, since we were little she called me cude and I would call her Lou.. if it wasn't for us we'd still be out there I'm gonna miss you Lou.. you were always a good friend and cousin.. rest easy!!
