Lloyd Carl McCarson Jr.Mr. Lloyd Carl McCarson Jr., 81, of Dalton departed this life Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at the local hospital.Carl was born July 10, 1926, in Durham, N.C., the only child of the late Lloyd Carl Sr. and Lillie Ferrell McCarson.Carl was the former co-owner of Mack’s Furniture in Durham and was a retired district sales manager from Patcraft Mills.He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Dawnville and the Durham F and AM Masonic Lodge.Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Betty Cochran McCarson of the residence; children and spouses, Philip and Barbara McCarson of Durham, Phyllis Ihrie of Louisburg, N.C., Tony and Becky McCarson of Yadkinville, N.C., the Rev. Ronnie and Cindy McCarson of Mobile, Ala., Judy and Keith Hilliard of Durham; stepchildren, Star and Hubert Painter of Chatsworth, Quinn and Colleen Jackson of Cullman, Ala., Deborah and Bobby Hall of Dalton, Collian and Kay Jackson of Chatsworth, Sheila and Alan Davis of Cullman, Ala.; sister-in-law, Thelma Elder of Crandall; brother-in-law, the Rev. Billy Joe Cochran of Dalton; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren.Services to celebrate the life of Lloyd Carl McCarson Jr. are today at 4 p.m. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie McCarson officiating.Burial will be in West Hill Cemetery.
