Lois Byerley Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 24, 2017.
12/11/17 Lois Darlene Byerley went to the arms of Jesus Christ on December 11, 2017. She was a Sacramento resident for many years, an active member of the Assistance League, The Order of the Daedalians, The Porsche Club, and North Ridge Country Club. Darlene was the widower of General Sam Byerley. She is survived by her sister Donna Myas, daughter Sally Anne Shoemaker, son Gary Myas, many grandchildren, nieces, nephews and countless friends. She was known for being the "hostess with the most-est." Darlene's vivacious spirit always made life fun and lively; however, she subtly made an effort to do one kind act each day. To no surprise, Darlene strictly modeled her life by her favorite quote: "Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile." Memorial Services at Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, 11427 Fair Oaks Blvd, 95628 on Friday, December 29 at 11am. Reception to follow. Please RSVP to 916-539-8932. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to blueheartinternational.org

Darlene was an amazing, super woman who could prepare the most wonderful cuisine, play great bridge and tell unbelievable stories. She was a dear friend who enriched our lives whenever we were together in California, Tahoe or Texas.

Darlene was a much beloved bridge partner, chef, hostess, and most importantly, friend. All of us from Texas who came to know her absolutely loved her and will miss her terribly - her funny stories and memories will be with us forever.

Your family have my deepest sympathy. You can find comfort from God's word. 1 Cor. 1:3-4. He gives comfort in our trials and sorrow. Rely on him for comfort and strength in your time of deep sorrow.

We knew Darlene through the Sacramento River Valley Porsche Club. She was a lovely and lively woman whose presence always brightened up a room. We will miss her very much.

My family and I lived across the street from Darlene, Sam, Melanie and Sally. They were all great neighbors and I am sorry to hear of Darlene's passing.
