Lois Perlowski Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 7, 2014.
Lois S. Perlowski, 79, of Celebration, Florida, passed away on January 4, 2014 in Celebration Hospital. Her husband of 56 years, Jack, was at her side. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Margaret Simonds and raised in Keene, New Hampshire. In addition to Jack, she is survived by sons Kevin (and wife Janet) of Richmond, VA; Stephen (and wife Barbara) of Falls Church, VA; John (and wife Paula) of Randolph, NJ; and Sara (and husband Gino)or Providence, RI; grandchildren; Scott, Steven, Lauren, Sydney, Owen, Caroline, Sierra, and Robert. Also, Lois is survived by her sisters Janet and Judy of Keene, NH and brother Billy of Charlottesville, VA.

Our "LoLo" and Jack spent many years developing great friendships and raising their children in Rochester, NY. Lois was a loving wife, sister, and friend who was completely dedicated to her family. Upon retirement 24 years ago, they spent their time enjoying the beaches and dolphins of Sanibel Island. In 2005, they moved to Celebration.

Jack and Lois travelled extensively around the world and always enjoyed making new friends. Lois was an exceptional "social director" and enjoyed cocktail parties and hosting various events. She had a special ability to connect with others and make everyone feel unique. In retirement, LoLo never stopped learning. Always carrying a book or magazine, she was an avid reader and supporter of the public library. She volunteered her time for many causes and was an exercise fanatic with many hours of workout classes at the Celebration Hospital. Also, LoLo is well known with grandkids and restaurants for wearing uniquely colorful earrings.

Most of all, Lolo was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was always there to support her family. She claimed she was an "Irish Princess" with mythical powers. For every major sporting or life event, she would give us all "whammies" for good luck (mostly, it worked !)

Lolo had a very full, active and happy life. Her spirit and compassion are an inspiration to us all. She touched many lives and will be missed by her family and friends who will carry great memories of this unique lady. She taught us the values of integrity, relationships, and hard work. She would close every conversation with the same phrase ---
"Love you lots, drive carefully".

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, February 7 at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Celebration.

I have the best memories of "Loie" from Perkins Swim Club car pools and also just being a great Rochester family friend. Loie was always so upbeat and cheerful. Thanks Loie for all the good times on Glendower Circle with Mrs. R
