Loren Arp Obituary
Loren was born December 19, 1948 in Davenport, the son of Karl and Nelba (Moeller) Arp. He was united in marriage to Sherry Hofstetter on September 19, 1982 in East Moline, IL. He graduated from Augustana College and went on to graduate from the University of Iowa with a degree in Physical Therapy. In his spare time, Loren farmed on his land, but, his greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was an avid Hawkeyes and Green Bay Packers fan.
Loren had been a physical therapist for over thirty-six years and worked as a clinician. He held many regional and national positions pertaining to rehabilitation techniques and human performance testing. He lectured nationally on isokinetic human performance testing and was recognized as an authority on testing outcomes. Over the past two decades, Loren had expanded the science of isokinetics through clinical study and currently was researching isokinetic strength-duration curves as it related to diagnostic conditions. He was Co-founder and President of Cost Reduction Technologies with corporate headquarters in Davenport.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Sherry, Walcott, children: Michael (Lyndsay) Arp, and their children, Brayden and Mikayla, Walcott, Abbi Arp, Iowa City, Krista Arp Scaia and her husband, Mike, Jacksonville, FL, Amy (Greg) Hageman and their son, Gavin, Davenport, Ty (Michelle) Arp and their children, Ashlyn and Dylan, Walcott, his mother, Nelba, Davenport and brothers, Duane and Kent, both of Walcott. His father and a brother Dana preceded him in death.

Sherry, Micheal, Abby, & family,
I am so sorry such a tragic accident happened to Loren. He was a great person and a pleasure to work for 10 years ago. He was always in a good mood. I regret not seeing him after I left and when he was at the Bandits game when we rented the Hummer for Drew's birthday. I found out too late that he had passed. Hope you are all doing well on this day & always.

Sherry, I have thought of Loren so many times since hearing of his death. I am sorry that I did not know you or your family. I have been a physical therapist for 46 years--have worked all those years at Great River Medical Center in Burlington. It is from here that I knew Loren. I had not seen him for many years, but had seen him at some IPTA meetings previously. He was such a kind and compassionate young man. It was a pleasure to have know Loren. I know he has blessed many lives with his professionalism, but probably more so for you and your children and grandchildren. I know our profession lost a great and respected person but also know that you are knowing the lost of him as a husband and father. I am so sorry I did not know of his accident or would have made some attempt to contact him. My prayers are with you as you begin the wonderful memories of your lives together.

I am so sorry for your loss of Loren Arp. Years ago when I visited Davenport to see my father, Nelba took me to see Loren to get help with my knee pain. He really did help me and made me feel so much better.

A great loss to his profession. Loren once told me that no one works harder than he does. As I got to know him I soon realized that he was not bragging--just being honest. Probably the hardest working person I ever had the pleasure of being associated with. A loss to everyone who knew him.

Please accept our sincere sympathy on the loss of Loren. In the last few weeks I think I have learned more about Loren than I previously knew through our 10 years of doing business with him. We have always been grateful for the opportunity to serve you and can honestly say that it seems his best years were ahead of him. While I will not pretend to understand God's will, I will say that Loren did a mighty work through his care for others. I believe his lasting legacy will be through the people's lives he touched and through his family.
