Loren Dale Christensen of Kent, Washington passed away on September 8, 2017 at the age of 80.
Loren was born in the Seattle area on September 25, 1936. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1954. He entered the Air Force in 1960 and served his country for 7 years. While serving, he learned his trade as a printer. When he was discharged from the Air Force he worked for Stan Hall Rubber Stamp in Seattle, WA for several years. Loren then started his own business "C & L Quality Rubber Stamp" in Kent, WA. He had a reputation as the best printer in the area. He then went to work for Boeing and designed and ran their first laser engraver, until his retirement.
Loren enjoyed wood working, which he had perfected. He was a true craftsman in everything he did. He had a special bond with wood. He loved fishing, camping, and all the guys toys. Loren loved his family and enjoyed life to the fullest. He will be missed dearly by all his family and friends, all the tackle shops, Woods magazine, and boat launches throughout Washington state.
Loren is preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin and Beatrice Christensen; his wife Judy; his daughter Laura Jean; and son Scotty. He is survived by his sister Shirley; sons Loren Jr., Michael, and Brian; daughters Sandy and Mary; stepchildren Rick, Brad and Mathew; and Eighteen grandchildren plus over 30 great grandchildren.
A Committal Ceremony and Niche placement will take place at Tahoma National Cemetery on Friday, October 13, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. This will be followed by a wake at Crones Place Hall, 23808 190th Ave. S.E. in Kent, WA 98042. The theme for the wake is fishing. So wear your fishing jacket, vest or hat and lets have a good ol' BBQ for Loren. (AKA Jim)
