Loren W. Eickhoff, age 63, of Willmar, died Sunday evening, Jan. 1st, at the Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home after a long illness with ALS. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, Jan 5, at the Church of St. Mary in Willmar. Interment will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm with a 7 pm Knights of Columbus Rosary service on Wednesday, Jan. 4, at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church. Loren William Eickhoff was born on November 29, 1948, in St. Cloud, Minnesota, the son of Boniface and Agnes (Bueckers) Eickhoff. He grew up in Willmar and graduated from Willmar High School in 1968. From October 1968 to October 1973, Loren lived in Minneapolis and was employed at the Wolff Animal Hospital. He then returned to Willmar and was employed from 1974 to 2005 at the WRTC as a delivery driver in the food service department. Loren also delivered newspapers for the Willmar Reminder for over 45 years. Loren was a life member of the Church of St. Mary, the Albany Pioneer Days and the Little Crow Photography Club. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus and a 30+ year member of the Eagle's Club. Loren was a determined individual. Life was hard for him, but he never gave up! Loren had a great memory and enjoyed striking up conservations with just about anyone. Loren also enjoyed photography, antique farm machinery, airplanes, traveling and spending time at his cabin on Big Kandi Lake. He is survived by his three siblings, Kevin Eickhoff of Mohrsville, PA., Juanita (and Dave) Lauritsen of Milan and Pam (and Dennis) Stoks of Young America; seven nieces and nephews and seven great nieces and great nephews, besides other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
