Lori Erickson Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 12, 2023.
Lori Ann Erickson (nee Hill), 63, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2023 in Oceanside, California.

She is survived by her children Nicole Goodwin and Ryan Goodwin (and his wife Andrea), her beloved grandchildren: Alayna and Eli Goodwin, her siblings: Randy Hill, Cheryl Van Molle, Jeff Hill, Brittany Hammond, her mother Elon White, and many nieces, nephews, and wonderful friends. Lori was preceded in death by her father, Richard Hill.

Lori was born on September 6, 1959, in Salt Lake City, UT.
In Lori's younger years, the family bounced around for short stints in many places, including Wisconsin, Connecticut, and Colorado, before landing in Littleton, Massachusetts in 1971. She graduated from Littleton High in 1977. In 1978, Nicole came along, and Ryan followed a couple of years later.

Lori was an incredibly hard worker and shortly after Ryan was born, she set about getting a college degree. She began attending night school, while raising two kids and working part-time jobs. She got her degree in Information Systems from Franklin Pierce University - and was the Valedictorian of her graduating class. Her hard work and perseverance paid off and she began working in human resources, quickly climbing up the ranks and ultimately serving as an HR executive for a number of large, successful companies in the technology and energy spaces.

Lori had a passion for the outdoors, and skiing and hiking were among her favorite activities. She also enjoyed crafts and spent many hours making beautiful creations - often to gift to loved ones. Recently, she discovered pickleball and quickly became an enthusiastic player.

Lori was a Mimi, a mom, a sister, an auntie, and a friend. She loved spending time with family and friends - especially Alayna and Eli, who brought her so much joy. And she adored her 4-legged companions over the years - most recently Bella and her beloved Tucker Doodle.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made in Lori's memory to a charity or foundation of your choice. Suggestions are : The Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation (https://www.helpfightra.org/donations/), or an animal welfare organization such as The Humane Society or a local shelter.

Lori will be remembered for her generosity, kindness, intelligence, resilience and her love for her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Our deepest, heartfelt sympathy to Lori's family. She was so loved within the skiing community of North Conway and, specifically, the Skidaddler Ski Club. We have such fond memories of her- so kind and caring and fun. So shocked and saddened by her passing. Our deepest condolences.

Lori was a coach, a mentor and a great friend. I am so fortunate to have known her, learned from her and had laughs with her. I owe a great deal of where I am today in my career because Lori trusted and believed in me. Lori is simply the best.

Lori was not only a gifted and compassionate leader, but also a thoughtful and articulate friend. I have learned so much from Lori; lessons that I still carry with me and pass on to others today that I cannot imagine where I would be in my own career without her. I miss her deeply and I know her memory will live on through all that she has impacted. My sincere condolences to her family, Lori was an exceptional person and friend.

I had the great pleasure of being a Director of First Wind and worked with Laurie. To say she was a pleasure to work with is an understatement. She made a big difference to a lot of people. I was shocked at her passing. She will be missed by all she touched.
