Lorraine Allen Obituary
She was born on April 20, 1929, in Anamoose, ND, the daughter of Robert and Fredereka (Weir) Graham.
She married William H. Allen on May 21, 1954, and they relocated to VT. In 1965, she and her family moved to Rutland.
Mrs. Allen had been employed as a cook at the Rutland City School System for 30 years and following her retirement, she volunteered as a foster Grandma at the Northeast School for 15 years.
She was a diehard Red Sox fan.
Mrs. Allen loved playing bingo and going to concerts in the park.
She was a member of the Rutland United Methodist Church and loved listing to their Bells of Joy.
Survivors include her three children, Sharon A. Crosby, Douglas A. Allen and Mark L. Allen and his wife, Linda; three grandchildren, Kayla D. Crosby, Toban J. Crosby and Laura LaFond; a great-grandchild, Cadyance LaFond; several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is also survived by one sister-in-law, Pat Allen.
She was predeceased by her husband, William H. Allen, in 1979 and by three brothers, Allen Graham, Cecil Graham and Ed Graham.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, 2017, at the Rutland United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the East Clarendon Cemetery. A reception will follow.
As Kayla would say, "We love you to the moon and back, Mimie."
Memorial contributions may be made the United Methodist Church of Rutland, 71 Williams St., Rutland, VT 05701.
