Lorrine Lila Loomis Rutkowski, of Franklin, WI formerly of Rhinelander, WI, died on February 28, 2024 at New Perspective Senior Living in Franklin, WI, she was 94 years old. She was born on January 25, 1930 in Gilmanton, WI to Henry Warren Loomis and Alice Myrtle (nee Austin) Loomis. Lorrine graduated from Eleva High School in 1948 and from Milwaukee Accredited School of Beauty in Eau Claire in 1949. She married John Rutkowski in 1951 and he predeceased her in 2013. Lorrine worked as a beautician into her 70's. She was part of the West Side School Stunt Night from 1961-1969 and she sang in the Homemakers Chorus entertaining at hospitals and nursing homes during the 60's.

Lorrine was the 9th great-granddaughter of Joseph Loomis (1590-1658) who came over from England and settled in Windsor, CT on the piece of land knows as "The Island". Today the Loomis Chaffee School, an independent, coeducational, college preparatory school for boarding and day students in grades 9-12, including postgraduate students located on "The Island".

Other notables in her family tree were the Loomis Gang. The Loomis Gang was a family of outlaws who operated in Central New York during the mid-19th century. The patriarch of the gang, George Washington Loomis, was a decedent of the immigrant Joseph Loomis, who arrived in the Massachusetts Bay Colony from England in the early 17th century.

Lorrine is survived by her two children Kim (Michael Wiedel) Rutkowski and Robin (John Denapoli) Rutkowski, four grandchildren Kristen Lee (Matthew) Wessman Bettner, Jacob (Crystal) Wessman, Joshua Wessman and Alex Wessman and four great-grandchildren Margaret and Colt Bettner, and Hawk and Ayla Wessman. She is further survived by other relatives and friends.

Burial will be private at Central Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in King, WI.
