PEABODY — Louis C. Bunnell, 69, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at home.
He was born in Amesbury on Aug. 5, 1940, son of the late George and Mary (Bertogli) Bunnell.
He was a graduate of Amesbury High School, Class of 1960. Mr. Bunnell was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army in the 82nd Division, from 1961 to 1964 and a retired employee of Gould/Shawmut in Newburyport.
He enjoyed many years of serving as a bartender at the Polish Club in Amesbury. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends and he will be greatly missed by them.
Mr. Bunnell is survived by his best friend and former wife, Phyllis Bunnell and their children, Jennifer and her husband Matthew Pszenny of Peabody, Jeffrey and his wife Deanna Bunnell of Salem and Erin Bunnell of Salem; his grandchildren, Alyssa and Brandon Pszenny, Jeffrey, Jeremy, and Emma Bunnell, and Gavin Louis Bunnell. He is also survived by his sister, Marie DiDomenico of Medford, and many, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Mr. Bunnell was predeceased by his grandson, Nicholas Matthew Pszenny and his siblings, James Bunnell, Anna Gagne, Albert Bunnell, George Bunnell, Mabel Walsh, Barbara Burrill, Benjamin Bunnell, Elizabeth Perkins and Stella Bunnell.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., Amesbury, will be held on Monday, Jan. 4, from 2 to 5:30 p.m., followed by a service at 5:30 p.m. A reception will follow at the Polish Club. Burial will be Tuesday, at 3 p.m. in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amesbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the American Diabetes Assoc., 330 Congress St., 5th Floor, Boston, MA 02210.

Dad,
I love and miss you so much... you were the greatest dad anyone could have and I am so blessed that you are mine. I feel like times are getting harder rather then easier but it comforst me just to know that you are watching down on all of us and looking out for us. I cant wait to one day see you again...I love you dad thank you for always being there for us!!!

Our deepest sympathies to all of you. The Bunnells were our neighbors growing up on Boardman Street in Amesbury...Louie was a great kid and always bringing fun and mischief to every day!
