Lucinda Rowe Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 6, 2024.
Lucinda Herrick Rowe, 78, of Mineral Bluff, GA, passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023, in Dallas, TX.

She was born May 3, 1945 in West Lafayette, IA, to Allyn Herrick and Nadine Herrick.

Cindy devoted herself to making her home peaceful for her four daughters and husband Bill. Every day she prepared her home to be a space that others could enjoy. She loved celebrations and made them beautiful for her family. She tirelessly supported Bill professionally in his veterinary business. She was a dedicated volunteer at San Antonio Christian Schools, where all four daughters were students. She loved to cheer on her girls in sports, and constantly opened her home to their friends.

Cindy thrived as a grandmother to each of her eleven grandchildren. She was eager to hold them, change a diaper, feed them a bottle or let them sleep in her room so mom and dad could get some extra rest. She cherished every moment with them.

Cindy was a beloved sister to Kay, Marsha and Deverah. The four sisters enjoyed getting together for little reunions any chance they got, particularly at Cindy's home in Mineral Bluff, GA.

When it came to her community, Cindy was devoted to church and other ministries. For decades, she was a part of Bible Study Fellowship in San Antonio, TX. Cindy supported Alliance Defending Freedom, and was a beloved member at Blue Ridge First Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school.

Cindy possessed a childlike joy and wonder. She gasped at sunsets and mountain ranges, made silly faces at babies at grocery stores, never turned down a candy corn, and danced freely around her kitchen.

Of all of the roles and relationships Cindy had, the one she held most dear was with God. She was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and would share this with anyone. She sought to honor Christ with her life and found peace in the Scriptures. Cindy was unafraid to leave this life because she believed with childlike faith in the life to come. Cindy is now in perfect peace and joy in the arms of God.

Along with her parents, Cindy is preceded in death by her sister, Kay Giles. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, William (Bill) Rowe; daughters and sons-in-law, Christy (Darin) Sloan, Suzanne (Jim) McGregor, Holly (Tyler) Emler and Megan (Jonathan) Copeland; grandchildren Stephen (Hannah) McGregor, James McGregor, CC (Tyler) Stafford, Spencer Sloan, Leo Emler, William Emler, Riverlea Emler, Bennett Emler, Caroline Copeland, Thomas Copeland and Lainey Copeland; sisters, Marsha Brown and Deverah (Sal) Bianco.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 10 am at Blue Ridge First Baptist Church in Blue Ridge, GA, with Pastor Rusty Thomas officiating.

You are a wonderful legacy of your Mom. It will be a thing of beauty to see her passed on through the grandkids. I know she is dearly missed.
