Lucy Iva Shimp McIntosh
Lucy McIntosh, 89, beloved mother and widow (Kenneth McIntosh, 2002,) passed away on the morning of September 2, 2018, succumbing to kidney disease and congestive heart failure. Funeral services will not be held. She is survived by sons David McIntosh of Silver Spring, MD, Bruce McIntosh and wife Susan of Gainesville FL; granddaughters Amanda and Laura McIntosh of Gainesville FL; and sister Martha Shimp Epperson of Virginia. A country girl who moved to "the big city" she was always very good at everything she tried. She learned on her own whatever she needed to know from secretary to seamstress/sewing teacher, to oil painting, taxes, costume jewelry, gardening and, most importantly, as homemaker, wife, and mother. For many years she was active in the Calverton Baptist Church in Silver Spring. The pain of losing you will fade somewhat over time but the hole in our hearts and lives will always be there. We love you and miss you terribly. Rest in Peace.
