Lucy Nicholson Obituary
Our beloved mother, Lucy Hernandez Nicholson went to the waiting arms of our heavenly Father on March 15, 2011. She was born in Austin, Texas on September 16, 1913 to Ernesto and Augustina Hernandez. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Leonard Nicholson; parents; brothers, Ernest "Sonny" and Jesse; sisters: Mary Fernandez, Janie Sanchez and Francis Amaro. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Ann Nicholson and Grace C. Deverick; half-brother, Carlos Rivas; and several loving nieces and nephews. "Mudder" will be greatly missed by her adoring and cherished Caesar A. Rivera and family friend Carmen A. Rivera. Lucy worked for Santone Mfg. Co, Wesley Community Center, Centro del Barrio and Catholic Charities, retiring at age 89. The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., Sunday, March 20, 2011 with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 9:30 a.m., Monday, March 21, 2011 to celebrate a 10:00 a.m. Mass at St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. Interment will follow in San Fernando Cemetery II, where she will be alongside her mother. The family extends their appreciation wholeheartedly to the staff of Inspiris Hospice for their care. Cindy & Grace,
I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your mother. My thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief.
Ms. Lucy was a beautiful lady, inside and out and we all loved her very much at Catholic Charities. I will cherish the memories I have of her forever.

Cynthia, my prayers and thoughts are with you and your family sweetie. I only met your mom through phone conversations and she was always so nice to me. I will always remember her in my prayers.
My new number at work is 210-221-8912. We moved down to the basement in January although we were not able to take the old number with us.
Cynthia I was so thinking about you last week. Though I didn't have your number.
