Dear Doris and family:
I am so sorry in hearing of Luther's passing. I always had a special place in my heart for him and looked up to him as a spiritual leader. If something needed done Luther was there. When I was baptized Luther said "You will never forget this day" and I haven't, nor have I ever forgot Luther, and you Doris, and your beautiful smile. I always loved seeing your face filled with love.
Love,
Phil Zongker

Dear Doris, Kim, Doug, and families,
I have always held your family in high esteeem.
But , my admiration for Luther has grown as I watched him with some of the kids I have brought to church over the last few years.
Not too long ago, some boys I was taking home from church were talking about how Luther encouraged them to serve communion and be on the praise team. The comment I heard from one of them was that no one in their family believed in them, but Luther did. So it must be true. They must have some self worth after all. The other agreed.
Each Sunday, he was the first they looked for.
He probably never knew what his encouragement meant to them, but I believe some of the fruit seen in their lives is directly attributed to his willingness to encourage.
And for that I am grateful.

Dear Doris, Kim and Doug,
Luther was my closest friend when we were in Tulsa. He could always be counted on. I probably relied on him more than I should have at times. I spent a lot of time with Luther during those eleven years, and I always regarded him as a godly, honorable man. His character was unimpeachable. All of us who know Luther know that he was true to his principles all the time. I have so many memories that include you and Luther, and will never forget.
Your friend always, Dan Snider, Minister

Dear Doris, Kim, Doug and all the extended Younger family and friends. I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Cousin "Jr." My memories of him are when I was a child and the kind and devoted father he was to my cousins and the warm and "fun" environment he and Doris made for visitors to their home in Verdigris. You are in my thoughts. My hope is that you will take good care of yourselves anad each other at this difficult time. Sincerely, Michelle (cousin "Mickey") Ledoux (Aunt Susie's youngest daughter.)

Mr. Younger was my cooperating teacher for my pre-internship 30 years ago at East Central High School. He taught me so much that semester. Not once did I observe him lose his temper with any of his students. When I started my career in teaching math I use to think about Mr. Younger and wonder how he would handle certain situations. He truly inspired me to be the best.
He always had a big smile on his face and made me feel very comfortable.
I am so sorry for your loss.

Dear Doris, Kim,Doug, and Grandkids
Luther was a very special man and meant so much to everyone who knew him. His love for his family and Church was so known through his life and stories. He was special to me and touched my heart very much as you all do. I will miss him helping me wash dishes after dinners at the church. I will always keep you in my prayers and will be here for you at anytime. Doris look out when we go to branson, he may be watching us (being silly). :) Luther will be so missed from all. GOD BLESS THE YOUNGER FAMILY.

Dear Doris and Kim,
I just wanted to tell you that I am so sorry to hear about Luther. I have so many wonderful memories of Rolling Hills and your family. Of course Doris you probably remember how devestated I was when we moved to Inola right before Sunday School promotion. It took me a long time to get over that.
One of my favorite things about Luther was how every time I visited Rolling Hills he would always greet me with a smile, hand shake and a hug. I will really miss him the next time I come and visit.
I love you guys!

Dear family,
I was a student of Mr. Younger's almost 30 years ago at East Central. I remember Mr. Younger because he is one of the main reasons I always had a love of math. He was a wonderful teacher and a very caring soul. He sticks out in my mind as someone who loved his profession and it showed! I believe he had a positive impact on all of his students and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to know him.
My thoughts and prayers are with your family!

Doris and family,
From day one of knowing you and Luther, you welcomed us warmly into our new church family. You and Luther are a shining example of how all us Christians should work and love each other. We can only imagine your sense of loss. We love you and will be there if you ever need us.

Dear family:
Mr. Younger was my teacher at East Central for two years in the 70's. I remember him as a demanding, but fair teacher. The hard work he put us through really paid off for me in math courses later in life. As a university professor I try to remember the example that Mr. Younger and others set in the classroom.

Aunt Doris, Kim, Doug,
I will miss my favorite Uncle so much. I have so many sweet and fun memories of "Uncle Jr." that will stay with me always. He slid me $40. one time, out of the blue...with a wink...I had no idea he knew how much that meant to me and how dear it was, but it was so sweet and loving, it just went to show how great an Uncle I always felt him to be. I will miss him in my life but also so glad that he is with Grandma and My Chelsey until I get there too...

To the family of Mr. Younger:
I was one of Mr. Younger's students at East Central High School. I had him for Algebra during my freshman year, which was over 30 years ago. While he was not necessarily the "young and hip" teacher that many wanted, I made it a point to request him for my math teacher during my junior and senior years as well. I learned a great deal from him and he inspired me to do my best. I still have vivid memories of him sitting in his chair next to the overhead projector as he worked problem after problem after problem, erasing the projector screen with a spray bottle and a rag. I also recall questioning a test score on which I made less than 100% and he laughingly told me to let it go. I don't remember a lot of teachers, but Mr. Younger is one I will always remember. In fact, at age 37 I went back to school to become a teacher, have finished my master's and am now working on my doctorate. Mr. Younger was one of my inspirations. In your sadness, please know that his legacy lives on in many of his former students and the lives we will touch because of him.
