Madeline Buglione

BUGLIONE - Madeline, President of the Long Island Riding for the Handicapped Association, Inc.("LIRHA") passed away suddenly on October 23, 2015 at the age of 61. A long-time resident of Bellmore, she was a selfless person who devoted her life to her family and LIRHA. She joined LIRHA as a volunteer, and soon became president of the organization. During this time, Madeline touched the lives of hundreds of disabled individuals and their families. She extended her involvement by not only enabling the students to receive therapy on horseback, but also was involved in their personal lives, helping in any way she could whether it was through fund raising, organizing classes, or simply a thoughtful phone call. Through her dedication to LIRHA, Madeline set a high standard of giving and inspired others to do the same. Madeline devoted her life to helping others. What everyone remembers about Madeline is that in times of need, she never asked what she could do, she just stepped in and did exactly what was needed. She was a wonderful person and we all thank her for sharing her life with us. Her memory will always be with us and her legacy will live on forever. Survived by brothers Dominick (Annmarie) Buglione of Bellmore and Louis (Winifred) Buglione of Elmhurst and loved by 6 nieces and nephews and 14 great nieces and nephews. Arrangements entrusted to Clair Bartholomew Funeral Home, 302 Bedford Ave., Bellmore, Tuesday 7-9:30pm and Wednesday 2-4pm, 7-9:30pm. St. Barnabas Church, Bellmore, Thursday 9:45am. Interment St.Charles Cemetery.
