Marc Abrams Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 30, 2025.
Mr. Marc Owen Abrams, 75, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, in Tampa, Florida. Born on August 31, 1949, in Muncie, Indiana, Marc lived a life marked by dedication to his family, service to his country, and a deep-rooted faith in Jesus Christ.

Marc began his education at Ball State University before being drafted into the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He later earned a diploma in Business Management from La Salle University. His military service was distinguished and honorable-he served two years of active duty in the Republic of Vietnam with the 23rd Artillery Division (Americal Division). During his time in the Army, he completed basic infantry training at Fort Knox, Kentucky, and advanced artillery training at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. As a Supply Sergeant for a unit of 250 men operating 175mm Howitzers on tracks, Marc coordinated logistics across challenging terrain using trucks, helicopters, and planes. His bravery and leadership were recognized with one Presidential Unit Citation and two Bronze Stars with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Following his military service, Marc embarked on a successful career that spanned several decades. He began as a draftsman for Muncie Gear Works from 1966 to 1969. From there, he became part owner of Termar, Inc., serving from 1972 to 1978. He then worked as Operation Branch Manager for Adobe Building until 1985 before taking on the role of Plant Manager at Cape Tool & Die from 1986 to 1998. In 1988, Marc founded Cape Aerospace and led the company until his retirement in 2007.

Marc was married to Charlene for 52 years-a loving and thoughtful husband whose devotion never wavered. Together they raised two children, Marc and Troy. He was also a proud grandfather to Brice, Sydney, and Carly. His love for them was boundless; he found immense joy watching Brice play baseball and cheering on Sydney and Carly in their dance and gymnastics performances. He is also survived by his brother Terry Abrams.

He was preceded in death by his parents, E. Ray Abrams Jr. and Vona Abrams; as well as his twin baby sisters Vona and Donna.

Marc's passions extended beyond work and family-he enjoyed golfing, car racing, riding his motorcycle, and coaching his sons' baseball teams. His enthusiasm for life was contagious; he lit up every room with an infectious smile and playful sense of humor that brought joy to those around him.

A man of unwavering faith, Marc was baptized at Tampa General Hospital shortly before his passing. Throughout his life he held strong Christian beliefs that guided him through both triumphs and trials.

Marc was truly the pillar of the Abrams family-a source of wisdom, courage, strength, and unconditional love. From serving bravely overseas to building businesses at home; from guiding loved ones with gentle strength to facing life's challenges head-on-Marc never gave up. His legacy will live on through all who were fortunate enough to know him.

May Marc's memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as an enduring reminder of a life well-lived-full of purpose, love, laughter, and grace. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 2, 2025, from 04:00 PM to 05:00 PM at Next Level Church: East 11081 Gateway Blvd. Donations can be made to the Next Level Church.
