Marcia Davis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 3, 2024.
Marcia Davis (nee Pitts) was called to eternal rest on May 29, 2024, in Atlanta, Georgia, at the age of 86. She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on August 23, 1937. Marcia was a kind, generous, and understanding woman and a trusted friend to many. Her unwavering faith and devotion to her family were the cornerstones of her life. She had a deep faith in God that sustained her through life's challenges.

Marcia married Lester V. Davis, Sr. in 1957 and soon after, they moved to Waukesha, Wisconsin, where she resided until her passing.

Marcia found joy in simple pleasures, such as sewing, shopping, cooking, and gardening. Her green thumb was evident in her flourishing indoor garden, particularly in her beloved plant "Chunky."

Left to honor her memory are her devoted children, Kim Davis-Mitchell and Lester V. Davis, Jr., her adored grandson Jordan Davis Mitchell, her loving brother Leslie Pitts, brother-in-law Daniel Davis, sisters-in-law Alice Davis and Sheila Davis, son-in-law Morris J. Mitchell, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Marcia was preceded in death by her husband Lester V. Davis, Sr., parents Anna and John Pitts, sister Shirley Torian, and brother Marvin Pitts.

Marcia was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Waukesha, Wisconsin. She also found solace at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Atlanta, Georgia, where she attended many Christmas Eve Services.

The family invites friends and loved ones to a Memorial Service to be held in Marcia's honor on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Atlanta, GA at 11:00 am. A subsequent Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Waukesha, WI, at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that memorial contributions be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Marcia's gentle spirit and benevolent heart have left an indelible mark on those she touched. May she rest in peace, forever remembered and forever missed.
