Margaret Sue Reese Allison, 62, of Wytheville died Tuesday, June 2, 2009. Funeral service was held Thursday, June 4, at 8 p.m. at the Wytheville Presbyterian Church with the Revs. Brad Simpson and Cindy Privette-Davis officiating. Interment was private. She was born Oct. 12, 1946, in Wythe County, daughter of the late Clarence Thomas and Opal Horton Reese. She was a member of the Wytheville Presbyterian Church where she served as deacon, elder on the session committee, head of the congregation committee, church liaison to the Wytheville Presbyterian Children's Home and church youth leader. She was a former sales representative with Alltel. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, J. Craig Allison of Wytheville; a son, John C. "Jay" Allison IV and wife Tina of Wytheville; two grandchildren, Ashley Rose Allison Umberger and John C. Allison V; a great-granddaughter, Taylor Marie Umberger; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jamie and "Buck" Hubble of Pulaski, Linda and Doug Chrisley of Max Meadows; a brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Judy Reese of Max Meadows; a sister-in-law, Mary Barclay Cox and husband Jim of High Point, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the church Thursday where the family received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. (service time). Memorial contributions may be made to the Wytheville Presbyterian Church, 285 Church St., Wytheville, VA 24382. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville was in charge of the arrangements.
