Arens, Margaret Ann Franklin (Mert), passed on October 5, 2018, of congestive heart failure. She was at home surrounded by those she loved. Margaret was born April 29, 1937, to Helen and Orville Franklin of Youngstown, Ohio. She attended St. Patrick's Grade School, Ursuline High School and Youngstown State University where she met her husband, John (Jack) Arens. They were married April 23, 1959, and blessed with children, Maureen and Marty. For Jack's work they later moved to Springfield, Ohio and Whittier, CA. The family would settle in Fullerton, CA. Margaret was very active in her children's school and various church activities. She was a room mother, lector, Eucharistic Minister, and all-around event organizer. Margaret loved spending time with family and friends. She also loved to travel, especially to Youngstown and Lancaster, PA. In Lancaster she loved visiting the Mennonite Families who had raised her father and his brother, John. She leaves behind her beloved husband, Jack; daughter, Maureen; son, Marty; daughter-in-law, Leanne; and two grandchildren, Sydney and Jordan. Service to celebrate Margaret's life will be October 25, at St. Angela's Catholic Church, Brea, CA. Rosary 9:30, Mass 10:00, reception to follow. All are invited.
