Margaret E. Ventura of Quakertown, PA, and formerly of Maple Shade, NJ, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Belle Terrace, Quakertown, PA. She was 102.
She was the loving wife of the late Raymond W. Ventura who died on December 15, 1995.
Born in Newark, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Matilda (Borman) Langguth. She was a 1937 graduate of Moorestown High School, Moorestown, NJ.
A waitress over the course of 45 years, Mrs. Ventura worked for the former Barnacle Ben’s Seafood Restaurant, Cherry Hill, NJ, until retiring at the age of 80 in 1999. Previously, she was employed by the former Latin Casino and the former Hawaiian Cottage, both in Cherry Hill.
Mrs. Ventura was a long-time member of the Women’s Club of Moorestown. She was an avid sports enthusiast, especially of the Philadelphia sports teams. As a young woman, she played first base in the local women’s softball league. She also enjoyed bowling, gardening and horseracing.
She is survived by two daughters, Geraldine Rae Squires, of Perkasie, PA, and Carol Ann Stephan and her husband Richard J., of Sacramento, CA; two grandchildren, Robert E. Squires, of Washington Crossing, PA, and Kimberly Rae Osman, of Myrtle Beach, SC; and five great-grandchildren, Samantha, Nikki, Kristen, Matthew and Amanda. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Raymond “Rick” Ventura, and a son-in-law, Robert E. Squires, Sr., both in 2017.
Memorial Services will be announced at a later date.
Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
