November 28, 1930 October 11, 2021

Margie Urrea Fernandez, age 90, went to be with the Lord peacefully on October 11, 2021 in her home town of Bakersfield, CA. She was born to Ralph and Claudina Urrea on November 28, 1930.

Margie truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with her sisters, visiting with family and occasionally playing cards, bingo, and her favorite slot machines.

She was an Elder with the Chalon Indian Nation, and a life long member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. She was a dedicated Dodgers fan. Anyone who met Margie quickly recognized her passion for singing and dancing.

Margie was preceded in death by her loving husband, Raymond Fernandez, sisters Adeline Urrea, Ramona Alvarado, Mongie Bonilla, and Evelyn Sabedra, her son Frank Grijalva, and her very special grandson Sean Vaquera, and recently deceased Julie Salcido.

She is survived by her children Ralph Castro (wife Lupe), and Nancy Vaquera (husband George), 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister Sevie Medina (George), and numerous nieces, nephews, godchildren, and in-laws.

Services will be held on November 1, 2021 at Basham 3312 Niles St. Bakersfield, CA. 93306. Visitation at 11:00 A.M. and Rosary at 1:00 P.M. Graveside services will be at 2:00 P.M. at Greenlawn, 3700 River Blvd., 93305.
