Maria Mata Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 29, 2010.
Our angel Maria De La Luz Ochoa Mata, "Aunt Mary", 46 of Selah WA, received her wings on Wednesday, January, 27th 2010 after losing a long battle with diabetes and kidney disease. She was born to Francisca and Ladislado Ochoa in Apatzingan, Michoacan, Mexico. Maria was employed by Zirkle Fruit Company since 1987. Maria loved to be around family and friends and tell us of her fun life experiences. Maria will always be remembered as "funny Aunt Mary." Maria lived a wonderful life full of love and laughter, and will be greatly missed by all.

Maria is survived by: her father Ladislado Ochoa of Mexico; one daughter Anna Ochoa and one son Sergio Ochoa of Selah; 12 brothers and sisters, Mercedes Gonzales and Teresa Gonzales of Selah; Luis Ochoa, Jose Ochoa, Javier Ochoa and Josephina Perez all of Seattle; Gloria Ochoa of California; Martha Ochoa of Oregon; Ramon Ochoa, Margarito Ochoa, Jesus Ochoa, and Guadalupe Ochoa all of Mexico; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Maria will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday with a Vigil beginning at 6:00 p.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12:00 noon Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010 at St. Paul Cathedral with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorials in Maria's name may be made to the American Diabetes Assocation or the American Kidney Fund, in care of Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home, 1010 W. Yakima Ave., Yakima, WA 98902
