Family-Placed Obituary

``Mamita' Maria Antonia Moreno was called Home to Heaven on January 11, 2004, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born June 13, 1936, in San Luis, Potosi, Mexico, to Mariano and Cristina Nieto. She was the oldest of 12 children. Antonia, along with her husband, lovingly served the Catholic community of Cristo Rey Catholic Church and later Dolores Catholic Church for over 20 years. She ministered to many through the Baptism and Marriage ministries. As a Eucharistic minister she also visited the sick, and she helped those wishing to convert or enter into the Catholic faith. She was a member of many prayer groups and participated or helped organize many retreats and workshops. Her door was always open to anyone who needed prayers, spiritual guidance, or a shoulder to lean on. She lived her Catholic faith by deeds and many who knew her are witnesses to her generous and warm spirit. She married her childhood sweetheart, Jesus Moreno, and recently celebrated 50 wonderful years together. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her six children and their spouses: Maria and husband, Roger Sanchez of Austin; Martha and husband, Jaime Morales of Pflugerville; Juan and wife, Mary Padilla Moreno of Round Rock; Jose and wife, Diane Perez Moreno of San Marcos; Cristina and husband, Jeff Lopez of Pflugerville; and Diana and husband, Ricardo Fabian of Austin. She is also survived by nine grandchildren: Tonya, Vanessa, and Roger Sanchez, Denise and Carlos Cornier and Jaime Morales, Jose Daniel and Kacie Moreno, and Victoria Lopez, and one great-granddaughter, Valerie Celeste Cornier of Dallas, TX. The family wishes to thank Dr. Jerry Fain and Hospice Austin and all who helped during this difficult time. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be on Tuesday, January 13, at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 14, at Dolores Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations can be made in memory of Antonia to the Social Ministries program at Dolores Catholic Church, 1111 Montopolis Drive, Austin 78741. ``We love you and miss you dearly, Mamita.'

“TE PRESTARE POR UN TIEMPO A TUS PADRES”

Te prestare por un tiempo unos padres

para que los ames mientras vivan.

Podran ser 10, 20, 30 anos o mas,

hasta que los llame.

Te pregunto:

podras cuidarlos?

Quiero que aprendas a vivir

con ellos, les e buscado

unos hijos y te e elegido a

ti. No te ofrezco que se

quedaran contigo para

siempre, solo te los presto.

Ellos te daran ternura y te

daran alegria por

tenerte. El dia que los llame

no lloraras ni me odiaras

porque los regrese a Mi.

Su ausencia corporal quedara

compensada por el y por

los muchos y agradables

recuerdos. Ten presente que

si algo te entristece, que si el

golpe del dolor te hiere algun dia, tu

pena es mia y asi, con todo esto, tu

luto sera mas llevadero y habran de

decir con agradecida humildad:

HAGASE, SENOR, TU VOLUNTAD!

Dios les bendiga y fortalezca en esos tiempos dificiles

Mrs. Moreno will truly be missed. I met Mr. & Mrs. Moreno when I was the CCD teacher for Diana when she was in the 3rd or 4th grade. What I will remember most about Mrs. Moreno was how kind she always was. She always made me feel like I was special. On the lighter side--One day not too long ago she made me some home made tortillas because I told her my Mom didn't make them any more and I was too lazy to make them.
