Marie Belli Obituary
She was born in Polizzi Generosa, Sicily, Italy, April 4, 1940, the daughter of Sebastiano and Domenica (Merlina) Dolce.
Marie enjoyed life. She loved working with her hands in the garden and spending time with family and close friends.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph A. Belli of Peru; her three children, Michael Belli of New York, N.Y., John David Belli and wife, Mary Avalos of Albany and Jennifer M. Belli of Plattsburgh; one grandson, Adrian Christopher Belli; her mother; brother, Giuseppe Dolce, and family; two sisters, Teresa Rachiele and family and Franca Puleo and family; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her father; and one son, Christopher Marcus Belli.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru. A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Augustine's Church in Peru with the Rev. William G. Reamer, CVPH chaplain, celebrating. Burial will be held Saturday, Dec. 27, 2008, at 11:15 a.m. at the Cypress Hills Cemetery in Brooklyn, N.Y.
Donations in her memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Arrangements are in the care of the Hamilton Funeral Home, 294 Mannix Road, Peru.
