Marilyn JOHNSTON Obituary
Marilyn Anna (Broughton) Johnston age 72, of Langbank, Saskatchewan passed away on November 22, 2016 at Whitewood, SK after a short battle with cancer. She was born in Walpole, SK to Anna (Russell) and Stanley Broughton. Marilyn enjoyed gardening, handiwork, walking, music, and volunteer work. She had a love for God, family, and friends. Marilyn was predeceased by her parents and infant son, Ervine. She is survived by her husband Ervine, children Craig, Karl (Mashal Burke), Cheryl (Kelly Davis), Tracy (Scott Unger), and Esther (Greg Vennard), nine grandchildren, two great- grandchildren, siblings Joyce (George) Orr, Russell (Susan) Broughton, Wayne (Sharon) Broughton, and numerous nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in Parkland Bible Church, Kipling with Pastor Lincoln Vellacott and Pastor Joseph Steeves officiating. Interment will be in the Village of Kennedy Cemetery. Following the interment service a reception for family and friends will be held in the Langbank Community Center. The family would like to thank the staff at Moosomin Hospital and Whitewood Community Health Centre for their exceptional care of Marilyn during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, contributions in memoriam may be made to the Samaritan's Purse, 20 Hopewell Way NE, Calgary, AB T3J 5H5 (SamaritansPurse.ca/ gifts) or to a charity of your choice. We miss our sister in law..She was such a neat person.Never did we think it would be our last chance to be with her as we tooted around Phoenix a few months earlier.

Such a wonderful, Godly lady. Erv, I pray for you daily and more than daily. Marilyn was so much to you, wife, friend and councillor. And sometimes a gentle (very gentle) reprimand when you took a 2nd piece of her lemon pie. Take care of yourself.

My condolences to Karl and all of the Johnston family. Losing a parent is something that rocks you to your core.
There will be so many times you think of her and just wish you could talk with her just once more to ask her advice or or how she did this or that. I never did figure out what my Dad put in his cabbage and noodles despite numerous tries over the last 8 years, they just aren't his. Hold onto The Love, her Faith in God, and all of those moments that you probably have in your mind right now. God will be there for you when ever you need him.

Dear Uncle Ervine, Craig, Karl, Cheryl,Tracy, Esther & your families
Although there's no words that are ever going to take away your pain, just want to say a few things. Aunty Marilyn (Sr.) was so loved by so many, just like YOU ALL are.
It's always been special for me to be M.J. Jr. and I sure have many awesome memories of being with aunty over the years. Like the time I came to stay on the farm that summer and dropped a harrow on my toe and then wiped out the motor bike that Craig and Karl were (trying to) teach me to ride. Aunty was the one who had to fix me up both times. We sure had lots of laughs over that (at my expense. lol)
Aunty Marilyn was always so inviting and hospitable and fun! She always had something interesting to talk about which usually included you all, especially after the grand kids came. Oh how she loved them!
She put on fantastic meals and just loved us! I especially loved the way she ADORED YOU, uncle Ervie and how you showed so much admiration for her. You could totally tell you were so in love with each other. You were a super inspiration.
I'm sending my Prayers and blessings and asking the Lord to give you a peace that passes understanding. Love & hugs.
