It is with heavy hearts that the family of Marilyn Ellen Peters announce her passing on August 10, 2013 at the Foothills Hospital surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born on September 4, 1939 in Tramping Lake, Saskatchewan. To say Marilyn had a green thumb would be an understatement. She loved nothing more than tending to her extensive and lush flower gardens which flourished under her care. She was an avid reader, potter and collector of antiques. She was a devoted wife and mother and foster parent to many children over 21 years. Marilyn is survived by her loving and loyal husband of 52 years Norman; children David, Brenda (Bob), Gregg (Tammy) and Glen; brother Ron; sister Sandy (Dean); grandchildren Justin, Amanda, Carlie, Miranda and Sydney; and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and in laws. She was predeceased by her parents Alexander and Esther, sister Joan and her husband Kes, sister-in-law Sharon and grandson Matthew. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Units 111 and 112 for the phenomenal care and compassion they showed to Marilyn and her family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made directly to the Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation (100, 119-14 Street NW, Calgary, AB T2N 1Z6). A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel of EDEN BROOK FUNERAL HOME (17 Avenue South West and Lower Springbank Road) on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. A Graveside Service and reception to follow at Eden Brook Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home.
