Marjorie Bishop Smith

Marjorie Bishop Smith, 75, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 in Greenville. Visitation will be at Merritt Funeral Home in Brooksville, FL on Saturday, November 10 from 2:00-3:00pm with graveside services at Brooksville Cemetery at 3:30pm. There will be a memorial service at Feliciana Baptist Church in Clinton, LA on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 4:00pm. Mrs. Smith, a native of Brooksville FL, was a long-time resident of Clinton, LA and a current resident of Greenville, NC. She was a founding member of Feliciana Baptist Church in Clinton, LA. She was an avid musician and served as an organist in multiple churches throughout her life. She was known for her outgoing personality, ready smile and ability to make friends easily. After moving to North Carolina, she became an active member of her community and of Winterville Baptist Church. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Ronnie Smith, her parents Raymond Cecil and Fredda Nell Bishop and her sisters Janet Bishop and Sue Beverley. She is survived by her daughters Lorri Smith of Zachary, LA and Melissa Phillips of Greenville, NC; her sisters Linda Burkman of Spring Hill, FL and Glenda Evans of Brooksville, FL; sisters-in-law, Melvina Nation, Arlene Hamby and Verna Smith of Brooksville, FL; her grandson Randall Wright of Prairieville, LA and great granddaughter, Adalynn Wright of Denham Springs, LA.
