May 28, 1976 - July 1, 2016
Peacefully, with his loving family by his side at the age of 40. Cancer took away all of Mark's physical abilities, but it could not touch his mind, his heart or his soul. He was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, grandson, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Beloved son of Linda (nee Lortie) and Bernie Chartrand. Dear brother of Lori (Jim) Maker and Danielle (Ron) Kelly. Loving uncle of Devan, Ryan, Dylan and Isaac. Mark will be forever remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Friends may pay respects at the

Friday, July 8, 2016 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Holy Redeemer Church, 44 Rothesay Drive, Kanata for Mass of Christian Funeral at 11 a.m. Cremation to follow. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Queensway Carleton Hospital and the Elisabeth Bruyère Palliative Care Centre for their support of Mark in his final days. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you consider making a donation in Mark's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society. Condolences and Sharing memories can be made at www.kellyfh.ca.

Dear Linda, Bernie and Family, my deepest sympathies. It's been over 25 years since I've last laid my eyes on Mark and yet I remember him like it was yesterday. He was a great athlete, but it was his kindness that stood out amongst his peers. After reading all the beautiful messages from everyone he touched along the way, there is no doubt Mark left this world loved by everyone around him. May he rest in peace and may you find comfort in knowing you raised a good man and may his kindness inspire us to be better. My thoughts and prayers are with you. God bless you all.
