Mark A. Cuttriss, of Martinsville, formerly of Kokomo, IN, passed from this life March 7, 2010 at the Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born August 17, 1950 in Kokomo, IN to the late Jack J. & Dorothy E. (Young) Cuttriss. Mr. Cuttriss was a retired carpenter. He was a Kokomo High School graduate with the class of 1969 and a graduate of Indiana Vocational Tech in Kokomo, where he received his degree in building trades. He proudly served his country, serving in the US Army from 1969-1972. He enjoyed fishing and had a passion for his dog, Hootch. He was a lifetime member of the Howard County Veterans Memorial Park where he formerly served on the board as vice president and trustee. He was also active in youth baseball at the UCT (United Commercial Travelers) Ball Park as a coach and minor league director and a member of the American Legion both in Greentown and Martinsville. He leaves behind his wife of nearly 40 years, Paula J. (Summerton) Cuttriss of Martinsville, whom he married May 8, 1970. He is also survived by three sons, Matthew A. Cuttriss and grandson, Matthew A. Cuttriss, II of Martinsville, Scott A. (Jennifer) Cutriss and grandchildren, Anighis, Jada & Sarah Cuttriss of Martinsville and son, Jeffrey Cuttriss of Kokomo; grandson, Timothy Duke and three brothers, Ron Cuttriss of California, Roger (Holly) Cuttriss and family of Hunington, IN and Bill Cuttriss of Florida and two sisters, Nancy (David) Schaefer and their sons and Cindy (Ron) Hillman and family all of Kokomo. He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Allyson & Nathan Cuttriss. Friends are encouraged to attend a memorial service with military honors to be officiated by Chaplain Dennis Chapman on Sunday, March 14th to begin at 12:00 (noon) at the Howard County Veterans Memorial Park, 8313 E. 400 S, Greentown, IN 46936. There will be no visitation. Neal & Summers Funeral & Cremation Center in Martinsville has been entrusted with arrangements. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.nealandsummers.com
