Mark was born and raised in Lima, Ohio. He was a 1984 graduate of Bath High School, in Lima. Mark received a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, from the University of Cincinnati and went on to earn his Juris Doctorate Law Degree from Ohio Northern University. Mark was a partner at Marshall & Melhorn, LLC, where he specialized in Patent and Trademark Law.
Above all, Mark was a follower of Jesus Christ. He loved to work with the sound and tech teams at his church, taking great pride in making sure the sound for each service was exactly as it should be. He loved to study Scripture and had a passion to share with others what he was learning, often facilitating Bible studies. Mark loved to read, look for ways to challenge his mind, research anything and everything (always on his iPad), cook for his wife, and play computer games late into the night with his online friends.
As Mark's cancer progressed, he focused on reconnecting with friends and being an encouragement by sharing God's love. He trusted that God's plan is perfect and knew that his salvation was based on his relationship with Jesus Christ, not on his ability to earn it.

Mark served in the church I helped lead in Pittsburgh. He was a family friend and truly and more properly, just family to us. He loved our daughters. They loved him when he was their baby-sitter. I got to see him and reconnect with him about a month ago. He was still the same, Christ-centered, God-glorifier I always knew. I learned something about death in seeing how he handled it. I will miss Mark very, very much.

Dear Dave, you have my sympathy on the loss of your little brother Mark. He certainly passed on way too early. I remember how proud you were of him and his early command of some of the important things in life.
I will say a prayer for you and him. Ben Diepenbrock

My heart and prayers are with Lisa and family. I knew Mark since he was a young boy. I was always impressed with his intelligence. He grew into a beautiful man. I know his loved ones in Heaven are rejoicing with him now.
